TTM surprise

I tried something new today and had my oldest son film me opening a through the mail return. There is no narrating. My hands aren't the prettiest. But hey, it is my first try at this.  Also, I had to cut 70% of the actual video because my address was all out there for public consumption and well, we can't have that!
After watching this it's also apparent I had it recorded from an elevation that a sherpa couldn't reach, so I'll work on that next time. For those who only have 20/20 vision, here is a photo of the new acquisition.
Hall of fame pitcher Goose Gossage!  It's a nice success and ended a bit of a cold streak on my through the mail gets. Thank you for reading and more to come.

 I've recently made a couple purchases from eBay of NFL Hall of Famers, including one my favorite players of all time, LaDainian Tomlinson. I went with the National Treasures on card auto for Tomlinson, and it's a good looking card numbered 14/49. This is the third Tomlinson item I have obtained, the first being a football he signed during his rookie year and the second being a jersey at a signing I attended 20 years ago. The other eBay item that recently was delivered was newly inducted former offensive lineman Joe Thomas of Cleveland Browns fame. As you can see, this card is numbered /50. Offensive lineman have almost no value to people that sell, so I was able to add this card in particular for real cheap. Any time I can get a cheap Hall of Famer, I'm in, especially an all time great player.

Various Winter Adds

As anyone who has either read my blog or actually is into this hobby can attest, the winter months can be an especially slow time for collecting signatures, especially when the main sport you collect is baseball.  There are major memorabilia shows going on nationally here and there, but those are expensive and very time consuming.  The one area where you can add a piece or two is by looking for good Black Friday or holiday deals from reputable companies.  I took advantage of one such deal by adding Brooks Robinson to my Hall of Fame baseball collection.     I had heard through the grapevine, or to be honest another guy's blog, that Target had some autographed baseballs for sale in which you buy a box and it has a random signature in it.  It was run by Leaf.  While at Target buying other things, I remembered I had read about this and decided to give it a shot and purchase one.  I pulled a Boog Powell with 4x All-star inscription....

Top 10 Additions to the Collection in 2024

 Yesterday I compiled a list of my top five autograph pulls from sealed sports cards during 2024, so today I'm going to do a top ten list of all additions to my memorabilia collection that I added in 2024.  10. Pedro Martinez It was tough for me to come up with the bottom few items that make the list because I added so many big names throughout 2024. In the end, I decided on going with my Pedro Martinez rookie card I sent in to a private signing that happened earlier this year. It was an Upper Deck rookie card and it came out nicely. 9. Erling Haaland Soccer has become my primary focus in collecting and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add the best striker currently playing in the Premier League, Manchester City's Erling Haaland. This card was an auto/game used memorabilia combo from a set I like, Panini Select. Haaland is the first of many huge soccer autos that came my way in 2024. 8.
