Larry Walker

Image
Earlier this year, before the pandemic obliterated the normalcy of life, I saw that one of my go to companies Tristar was going to be hosting a private signing with newly minted Hall of Famer Larry Walker.  Even though I have been in the hobby for quite some time, I never was able to obtain Walker at any point in his career.  Unfortunately, the signing did get delayed for about five months due to Covid-19, as Larry is a Canadian and was unable to coordinate with Tristar to get the signing done.  I ordered a signed MLB baseball with the HOF 2020 inscription.  Today, this arrived in my mailbox. I like the signature from an optics standpoint.  Thank you for reading.

Through the mail-Bobby Witt Jr.

This Bobby Witt Jr. card was one of the two cards I first sent out in mid May when I started doing through the mail requests again. This along with the Rafael Palmeiro signed rookie card I blogged about a couple weeks ago were sent on the same day. Oddly enough, both have been my longest wait for a return from the athlete. I had seen that Bobby had been signing and returning to many requests and that all of them were long after I had sent mine, so I had essentially written off any chance of getting this back. That's okay, because none of these athletes or celebrities have to sign anything, so any return I get I'm always happy with. When my daughter walked into the house today with am envelope in her hand addressed to me I got excited. As I mentioned in my last Trout post, any of the remaining requests I currently have out there would be pleasant surprises at this point.  Please check out the card below.  As you can see, I sent a 2020 Donruss prospect card. This is not the base

Mike Trout for the last time?

Anyone that has read this blog will realize I have gotten a few Mike Trout autographed items over the last few years.  There is the rookie year signed baseball I got from a signing he did in 2012.  There is the signed baseball I got from a signing in 2018 inscribed with 2012 ROY.  There is the 11x17 vertical photo I have of him making his second spectacular catch from a signing he did in 2019, inscribed with 2012 AL ROY.  A few months ago, it was the signed game model bat purchased directly from Major League Alumni Marketing, his exclusive memorabilia company that he is contracted with.  All of these items have culminated in my ultimate goal of acquiring a signed authentic jersey.  Mike did a signing July of this year, right before the start of the 2020 MLB season.  Here is the outcome; This is the authentic on field Nike home jersey of the Angels.  I like that both patches are on this jersey, as it will make for nice framing.  I plan on getting a shadow box custom frame job similar t

Through the mail-Dan Fouts

Image
The latest Hall of Fame athlete to come through my mailbox is former Chargers great and Quarterback Dan Fouts. Most younger NFL fans probably recognize him more for his broadcast work and for telling Brent Musberger "you can't hold anything back now" on Waterboy. Anyway, this guy was one of the first QBs in NFL history to put up a ton of points during his time in the Air Coryell offense. This signed card joins with former teammate and recent ttm success Charlie Joiner. I chose a card that lended itself to a signature in a good spot that would look good with what would likely be blue sharpie, and I feel this card delivers. I only have a few more through the mail requests pending, but they are all huge names in the sports world so if any of them hit it will be a great success. Also, I have something big coming next week.  This comes from a big time signing that occurred mid July.  Be prepared for that soon. Thank you for reading.
