Top 10 Pulls of 2025

This is probably my favorite post to write about every year. This top 10 consists of my favorite pulls from sealed product in 2025. It doesn't necessarily mean the ten most valuable, though that kind of thing does tend to push a card up my favorites list. Let's get started with 10 and work our way to one, then list out a handful of honorable mentions.

10. Rainiel Rodriguez

Bowman cards have a tendency to be high on these lists since I usually have pretty good luck with them. This one in particular is a 1st Bowman mojo on card auto. What made this card cool for me was the fact I didn't realize I had pulled one of the uber prospects from the set when I first saw the card in my pack. It was only upon further research did I realize that Rainiel is one of the chase prospects from this checklist. This card has the potential to skyrocket in monetary value, but it also has the potential to crater. That's the thing about baseball prospects. For now, this card comfortably fits into my ten spot.

9. Aurelien Tchouameni /99

A guy that starts as an important player for both Real Madrid and the French national team is going to have a place in my top ten. The above card was pulled on Christmas from a Club World Cup prizm hobby box my wife got me. Prizm autos have a tendency to get a bump in preference for me as well, since it's a highly coveted set.

8. Randal Kolo Muani /25

This is a Topps Chrome Bundesliga rookie auto numbered to 25. The fact that Kolo Muani now plies his trade in the Premier League as a striker for Tottenham Hotspur, so his visibility among soccer fans has been put on another level. Since this was part of my first ever case opening (spoiler alert ⚠️ we will see another pull from this later on), this card gets a spot on my list. Low numbered rookie autos are tough to pull, so to get one of a player people actually know is a big hit in my book. This also has the potential to go up in value if he succeeds with Spurs.

7. Dominik Szoboszlai /50

The provenance behind this card gets it a spot in my top ten. Szoboszlai plays for Liverpool, whom I support. This card was in a random discounted Topps box from a Walmart in Bullhead City, Arizona that I paid $7 for during my wife and I's last trip to visit my grandma before she got sick. It's hard to pull autos from Topps soccer retail as is, so to pull a gold /50 auto from a clearance blaster of a player from my favorite team was pretty damn memorable.

6. Jamal Musiala /99

This Topps Chrome Bundesliga Jamal Musiala auto /99 came from a case of hobby boxes I purchased online for an incredible price. Musiala was one of the chase autographs to get and I ended up pulling one. It was the first time I've ever been able to open an entire case of product, and the process took about three hours. It was fun, and I suggest looking back at the entire haul here.

5. Thomas White /99

Thomas White is arguably the best pitching prospect in baseball, so to pull his 1st Bowman on card auto was yet another feather in my Bowman cap. This came from a blaster box out of Barnes and Noble. Even though I don't usually sell autograph cards I pulled, I did already sell this one for a hefty profit. Pitchers are just so volatile and usually don't hold their value. It was a beautiful card though, so sneaks into the top 5.

4. Ethan Nwaneri /50

This autograph was pulled from a jumbo of Topps Chrome UEFA competitions. The box came with three autographs but the biggest one was this Ethan Nwaneri rookie auto /50. This was from the Black Lazer subset of autographs and /50 means it is also gold. Getting one of the chase rookies on a coveted auto insert was a big hit, one in which I capitalized on. I ended up selling this at a local card show and turning the funds from this and a couple of other cards into a Jude Bellingham rookie autograph /99 plus a Vini Jr auto /99. Any card that I can sell high on to flip into something huge is a major pull for me. If Nwaneri doesn't turn into a star, I made a smart strategic move from a value standpoint.

3. Kon Knueppel

Topps got the NBA license back this year and I had great luck in pulling rookie autographs. I went three for three with mega boxes and autograph pulls, the biggest one by far being this Kon Knueppel rookie on card auto. Knueppel is currently tearing it up in the NBA and the favorite for Rookie of the Year. The potential of this becoming a monster of a pull is pretty high already so I'm eager to see what comes of Knueppel's career. The convergence of four major factors of card value (rookie, on card auto, first licensed release in years, player performing well) has me hyped about this card both in the near and long term.

2. Matthew Tkachuk

Technically this isn't a sports cards per se, but it was sealed product so it counts. This was a Fanatics launch called Under Wraps Emanate and it was the inaugural launch of this product. It's essentially an oversized card (8x10) that comes in a package of one and features a random NHL player. I was lucky and pulled a superstar in Matthew Tkachuk and it was numbered to /5. Tkachuk is a 2 time champion and league MVP. He's in upper echelon of players in the league so it was a big pull that I'll likely have in my collection for years.

1. Patrick Mahomes /15

As much as I like every card on this list, this was a slam dunk, no trainer pick for me. Pulling this Patrick Mahomes auto /15 on Christmas Day will be something I remember forever. This card came from an absolutely product that I hyped as the best retail product I'd opened all year. 2025 Revolution football premium boxes. I pulled 5 autographs from four boxes, none bigger than this Mahomes. This pull is going toe to toe with my best ever, along with the David Beckham from a few years back. What a way to end the year! I knew there were actually Mahomes autographs in the product and I joked with my wife that there was a Mahomes under our tree. For it to actually be true was mind blowing.
