End of 2024 Additions

I know the calendar now says 2025 but there were some cool autographs that helped me close out the waning days of 2024 with some hits.

I hadn't posted about this one yet, but my son was gifted a Jackson Merrill autographed rookie card for Christmas. This was my own numbered rookie card that I sent into a signing he participated in and I received it back through the mail just a couple days prior to Christmas. My son was thrilled with the card.

As you can see, the only bummer is that the yellow paint pen I requested the card to be signed in bled a bit so it's not an overly clean auto. The card is numbered /250 and to be honest, I don't think my son minds the slight sloppiness on the signature. The other cool thing about this is that Jackson was giving out much better autographs during this signing than the autos you'll see him sign for Topps products. I think overall that tradeoff is worth it.

Another monster card was the Xavi auto /10 that my son pulled from a hobby box of 2024 Euros Topps Chrome. I ended up getting this card from him through a trade I made with him. He got a Fernando Tatis Jr. on card Flawless auto /99, a CJ Abrams Topps Finest on card auto, a Rafael Devers on card Topps auto /25, a Trea Turner Diamond Kings game used mem auto /75 and, and a Donruss Sebastian Walcott prospect auto. Who won the deal? He likes baseball more than soccer so he's happy, and I think value wise he is probably ahead in this deal. Nonetheless, I add another soccer icon low numbered auto to my growing soccer collection.
Lastly, the following card is a single I had been eyeing at my local card shop for a month or so before finally deciding to pull the trigger. They had this Panini Contenders Sam LaPorta on card rookie card auto /149 sitting in their case for a bit and I finally decided to but it. LaPorta is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and though he's had a rougher second year than rookie year, he still has high upside long term.
