The Bowman Haul 2024...plus a couple of other pulls.

I don't know whether I have pretty good luck with Bowman or if Topps just loaded these boxes this year, but in the ~12 or so blasters I've bought in 2024, I pulled six autos and numerous good numbered cards. Since this is an autograph blog, we will concentrate on those. I've already covered the Paul Skenes and Colton Cowser pulls, so we'll start with the other four.

Clearly the bigger names here are Skenes and Cowser because they are already in the big leagues and doing well. The Cowser is a Rookie auto /99 which makes it even better. The other four autographs are all 1st Bowman cards, so if any of these kids ends up being a great player, the card gets much more valuable. Prospecting in baseball is a fickle thing so even though I didn't hit any 1st Bowman autos of the nig names (Dylan Crews, Walker Jenkins, etc.) the fact is no one knows how good any of these guys will be. All six autos are also on card, which is another cool thing about Bowman. The Douglas Glod auto is also /99, so some profit potential is baked into that card as well.

Overall, this was just a really good year for Bowman and I still might find a box or two down the line to see if I can't hit anything else big.

Changing gears a bit here, I think I've discussed in the past how hard it is to find big name brand football and basketball product in SoCal due to the sheer value that can be found within those boxes. As such, I was shocked last Friday when my son went to Target and actually caught a restock, leading us to be able to procure six mega boxes of NFL Optic and one mega of NBA Optic. I only opened two of the football boxes, and in one I pulled this Ronnie Brown autograph. Brown had a pretty solid career in the NFL though he was never considered a star.

I also pulled this Bryce McGowens out of the one NBA mega but I'm not sure about this player at all to have an opinion one way or the other. It's always nice to pull autos out of retail though.
