Another Ligue 1 Hobby Box
As mentioned a couple of posts ago, the Ligue 1 Select boxes are very short printed so it feels like low numbered hits come flying out of each box. If you recall, I ended up with two /5 gold autographs as well as a really nice jumbo swatch /3 with a piece of the badge. These are just absolute beautiful cards and since it's the inaugural product, Panini seems to be loading them up. I enjoyed the first box so much that I bought another one last Friday and it ended up having even more value than the first. To start, I hit another low numbered autographs. This time it was Vladimir Smicer Gold /10. As a Liverpool fan, I am happy with that. I got another low numbered jumbo patch, this time numbered /5. It also has a great chunk of the jersey, with two letters off the shirt sponsor. This is Charlie Cresswell of Toulouse.
Now that the guaranteed box hit are out of the way, I can discuss the two most valuable cards I pulled. First up was a case hit stained glass Prizm of Thierry Henry from his Monaco days. It's just a stunning card and will stay in my PC like most of my autographs do.
I also hit two great rookie cards of FC Metz and current Aston Villa 17 year old phenom, Brian Madje. This is one of the chase cards in the entire set and I got the greeb field level Prizm /5. This is likely a card valued around $2,000 and I'll likely end up selling it to get a big autograph of a legend. To top it off, I also hit the field level teal checkerboard of the same player. As a reminder, field level is the rarest rarity tier as well.
To be honest, the hit to cost ratio is so high in this product that I feel compelled to buy myself a couple more boxes of it. If I do, I'll definitely post about it.
In two boxes:
2x gold autos /5
1x gold auto /10
1x Jumbo swatch /3 and one /5
1x case hit SSP stained glass
6x numbered parallels including a rookie /5 worth around 2k.a
