I wanted to do a quick overview and show some of the recent additions to my collection that have been coming in, as it has been pretty consistent lately.
The above card is a dual Prizm scope autograph of two former Argentine legends Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano. Since it's a Premier League Prizm set, they are in their West Ham kit, which is a bit weird. Nonetheless, I really like this card as it's a dual and they are hard to come by.
The below card is a Panini Select purple Prizm /49 of AC Milan and Dutch legend Marco Van Basten. I picked this exact card because the signature is as clean as one could ask for. This card really pops in person.
I've mentioned before that I really like to add the Topps 'Marks of Excellence' autograph set to my PC when I get the opportunity to, as these are low printed and feature signatures that are actually on card and not on stickers. I think long term as the soccer card market grows and catches up to the other sports (as is already happening), these on card, hard signed versions will fetch a premium.
At my local card shop, I came across this Jerry West Panini Contenders autograph /49. This card was $28. I don't know why some all-time great cost next to nothing and others cost a fortune, but here we are. When I come across deals like this, I jump on them.
The next card is from a set I really like even though I haven't had the best of luck with it, which is 2025-26 Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions. I hit four great AC Milan autographs that I have since posted on this blog but other than that, most teams have been a big swing and a miss in breaks for me. The card below was an eBay purchase. Franck Ribery purple lava refractor autograph /75.
Lastly, I found another budget eBay legend in the form on Alessandro Nesta. The below card is from Panini Mosaic Euros 2020 and is the purple mosaic /49 version of the card.
I want to take just a quick second to discuss why I have been adding so much in the way of legend soccer autographs. The reason is pretty simple. I think there is a huge market inefficiency when it comes to the sport, in that cards of all time great players go for much less than their contemporaries in other sports often do. To me, it makes no sense and I want to take advantage by adding as many of these players to my personal collection as possible before the inevitable price adjustment happens and the market catches up. It has already begun as the big, BIG names like Messi and Ronaldo have already spiked. The Cristiano Ronaldo autographs I added 18 months ago have already 2.5Xed in value.
